Air 1 – The Positive Alternative

Once upon a time, when I spent a lot of time in my own room, I used to listen to my thousands of Christian MP3s from my pretty nice speakers.

Now, when I spend more time in the office, on the road, or in hotel rooms than in my own room, I’ve found that my source of music, no matter where I may be, has become…

Nowadays, I listen to my music through the puny built-in speakers of my company-issued IBM T43. =)

I think it’s pretty amazing how the internet has changed the way music reaches me.

Even though Air1 is a Southern California station, I didn’t really start listening to it until I started working in New York, three thousand miles from the broadcasting source! =)

Anyway, whether cruising around on the freeways of Southern California, sitting in my cube in Times Square, or resting in my hotel room in Mexico City, I think it’s pretty neat that I can count on Air1 to remind me daily of my faith. =)

Business Travel Attire

It is now Wednesday, June 7th.

I packed my bag and left New York on Friday, May 26th.

I have been living out of my suitcase for  twelve days . (Hopefully, I’m coming back today…)

I travel light and pack one carry-on in addition to my laptop bag that carries my computer and my files.

I had planned to be away for a total of seven days . (3 days of rest in LA, 4 days of work in Mexico)

I have checked into my hotel three times and checked out twice in the past week.

I have slept in  five different beds since I left New York.

I have changed my plane tickets twice .

And I brought with me:
– 2 suits
– 2 dress shirts
– 2 ties

Unfortunately, I forgot how to do the math to calculate the number of different “outfits” I can make using the various combinations… so visually, I suppose it looks like this (S – Suit; D – Dress Shirt; T – Tie) :

1 – S D T
2 – S D T
3 – S D T
4 – S D T
5 – S D T
6 – S D T
7 – S D T
8 – S D T

Huh. Is it just 2×2x2? (And this is why I’m going to have a lot of studying to do before I take my GMATs! =P)

Anyway, I lost track of which combinations I’ve already used… I wonder if my clients have noticed that I’m mixing and matching from a set of only 2 suits, 2 shirts & 2 ties. (Don’t worry, I’ve not been wearing the same clothes for nearly two weeks without washing.) =P

I suppose next time though, I should pack one more tie… because it’d be the most space-efficient way to increase the number of outfits. (I’d have 12 different “appearances” with 2 suits, 2 shirts and 3 ties, right?) =)

Welps. If all goes according to schedule, I should be back in New York from Thursday through Sunday. Crazy. Now, what to pack for my next project back in Mexico next week? =)
